Deep breaths and take one of the yellow pills  I'd do it, but I suffer from responsiphobia and I've got a doctors note preventing me from doing anything or taking part in anything that could be described as "responsible behaviour".

LCFC 4 EVA- 07-15-2008

As others have said, I don't know how many games i'll get to this season, but am happy to volunteer for any I make it to. Is there anyone at the club we should contact to volunteer for this officially?

Grizedale how can you compare giant axe with Hillsborough? I didnt compare Giant Axe with anywhere! I said, if you read it again that the reason stewards are required at this level and in the numbers they are across the United Kingdom is all down to health and safety law, which is endemic in society, but especially prevalent in football, at all grounds since Hillsborough. Quite clearly for large crowds stewards and/or police will be needed, but in the Northern Premier League 1st Division (Division 8 in effect) I dont see the need for them, certainly not lots of them anyway for 23 people and a dog or whatever the small crowd will be. It is a small unneeded drain on lower league clubs and their income!

MadCyril- 07-18-2008

It is a small unneeded drain on lower league clubs and their income! No drain at all if volunteers are used.

Grizedale- 07-18-2008

It is a small unneeded drain on lower league clubs and their income! No drain at all if volunteers are used. Maybe not financially but it is to an extent an unwelcome burden on people who want to watch the game and back their team...instead of wearing a hi-vis jacked. Anyway to answer the point I was making, laws are laws...
